Yesterday, I read an article on Google News that quoted the Olympic Committee President, Jacques Rogge, as saying that people should not protest because it is not in keeping with the “spirit” of the torch relay.
This same sentiment has been echoed from many corners as of late.
Do I need to remind you that the tradition of the Torch Relay was started by Hitler’s Nazi Regime for the 1936 Olympics held in Berlin that year? That the torch was carried through Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and other countries, all Nations later attacked, invaded, and occupied by Nazi Forces?
The problem with the Honorable President’s assertion is that it isn’t the fault of the protesters that is the cause of the disruption, it certainly isn’t their fault for the situation concerning Human rights they are yelling about.
The scrutiny falls squarely on the shoulders of the Olympic Committee itself, who mysteriously seemed to overlook all these problems with China’s record way back when, the day they decided to award the 08 Summer Olympics to one of the worst violators of human rights in the world, and the occupier of that highly respectable Tibetan motherland.
(A situation the Bush Crime families tried to help with by pressuring their cronies in the State Department to recently remove China from the World’s worst human rights violator list).
Why would they be so easily hypnotized as to miss the absolute obvious? I’ll give you a hint: $$$$$$$$$.
Well, you can probably add power and access to that answer to be even more accurate.
How then can the naysayers be naysayers then? Are they not just merely pointing out, with all the fervor of a Republican drumming up support to save a poor down trodden culture from the evils and wiles of “Islamic Extremists,” a well known and documented case of the invasion and occupation of a sovereign nation, and the subsequent elimination of their culture and language, and the eventual extinction of their existence altogether?
How is China’s culpability in that “situation” not violating, in a major way, the “spirit’ of the torch relay and the Olympic Games?
It is obvious that China wants to use the Olympics as an ideal PR move to bolster its credibility on the World perception stage, in keeping with the giant wall of masks that hides the true ugliness of such a dysfunctional culture. Yet unlike their own citizens who are regularly spoon fed nothing resembling the truth from their media, the rest of the world is free from the Big Brother on Steroids that makes up the Chinese government. The world won’t tow the Party Line, because we know the Truth.
If you want to know how effective the protests are, just look at the face of the spokespersons for the Chinese government as they fumble along with their lies and explanations.
Apparently everyone gets it but the Olympic Committee.
The President and his incompetent Committee are full of crap, just like China is full of crap, just like the Bush Crime Family is full of crap.
