DCA is an unpatentable drug. It is effective, cheap and safer than almost all standard chemotherapies. It is just one of many unpatentable compounds that can extend or save lives without devastating family finances. Unpatentable means that no person or company can own all rights to its uses.

DCA

DCA is a drug developed originally to treat mitochondrial disease. Some of the early theories of the causes of cancer were thought that it was related to mitochondrial problems in the cell (which govern replication and cell suicide). This research was never seriously pursued for other theories. The statements about DCA having no side effect are wrong as DCA is heavy drug with serious side effects and should only should be given if the benefits outweigh the heavy side effects.

If you wander around that site some more, they describe side-effects. The side-effects are much less than those encountered in "normal" chemotherapy.

I do not know much about it, but am going to continue posting links like this one because the stuff might help someone. Also, it's good Buddhist practice to contemplate death. That contemplation should include what will kill us and, in our world, cancer is at or near the top of the list. I think it is a good idea to research some of these alternatives therapies so that if we are diagnosed with cancer, we will be less likely to panic and more likely to make good decisions.
